RPF Explorer for GTA V — Browse the whole game
Every archive in your install and every loose folder in one tree — nested RPFs included. Search everything, preview everything, export anything, edit in place.
One tree for everything
Disk folders and RPF archives — including archives nested inside archives — share a single path namespace. Auto mode finds your install, derives the archive keys from your own game files, and caches tables of contents so the second visit is instant.
- Global name search across every archive and loose file, with wildcards
- Content search greps text and meta files inside any subtree
- Favorites and recents persist between sessions
See the file before you touch it
Textures decode in place. Vehicles render fully textured — paint, glass and liveries routed by their real shaders, wheels instanced at their bind bones. YMAP previews place whole map scenes, audio plays as WAV, collision meshes route through the 3D viewer, and animation clips play on the base ped.
- Vehicle previews verified against real police / taxi models
- BC7 and every common BCn texture format decode
- PSO and RSC metas dump to readable XML
Change files without leaving the tree
Import, replace, rename and delete inside archives — the archive is rebuilt through a temp file and swapped in only when complete, with a size guard that refuses base-game archives. Texture replacement re-encodes PNG/DDS and preserves the dictionary structure the game requires.
- Batch export to PNG / DDS / GLB / WAV with a source→output manifest
- Diff any two folders or archives, copy changes either way
- Mods manager toggles dlcpacks in dlclist.xml

Questions
RPF ExplorerHow do I open .rpf files from GTA 5?
Download RageKit, open the RPF Explorer and point it at your GTA V folder — auto mode finds the install itself. Every archive appears in one tree, including archives nested inside archives, and the decryption keys are derived from your own copy of the game at runtime. No keys or game files are bundled.
Is RPF Explorer a free alternative to OpenIV?
The RPF Explorer is free forever, no account needed. It covers the daily OpenIV workflow — browse, global search, texture and 3D model previews, audio playback, export to PNG/DDS/GLB/WAV — plus in-place editing of mod archives, folder/archive diffing and a dlcpacks mods manager.
Can I edit files inside an RPF without extracting everything?
Yes. Import, replace, rename and delete work directly inside an archive: the archive is rebuilt through a temp file and swapped in only when complete, and a size guard refuses base-game archives so the tool edits mods, not your install.
Which GTA V edition does it support?
The Legacy edition (the classic GTA5.exe from Steam, Rockstar or Epic). Enhanced/gen9 support is on the roadmap.
